ServeStack

Messaging Terms

Effective date: September 21, 2026

These terms cover the ServeStack text message program, operated by Reusser for PrayerWorks Fort Wayne.

What the program is

ServeStack sends text notifications to volunteers about the prayer shifts they have signed up to serve. It is not a marketing program — every message relates to your own schedule.

How you opt in

Text notifications are off until you turn them on. You turn them on by adding your mobile number and ticking the box that reads "Text me shift reminders and schedule updates". That box appears in three places, and any one of them is enough:

The box is never ticked for you, and a mobile number on your profile is not by itself permission to text it. When you tick the box we record the date and the version of these terms you agreed to.

Consent to receive texts is not a condition of volunteering or of using ServeStack.

What the opt-in step looks like

The sign-up form at https://servestack.app/register collects it on the first step, directly beneath the mobile number field:

The volunteer sign-up form, showing an unticked checkbox labelled "Text me shift reminders and schedule updates" beneath the mobile phone field, with the message-frequency and opt-out disclosure below it.

The checkbox is labelled:

Text me shift reminders and schedule updates

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of volunteering. Messaging Terms and Privacy Policy.

The same box, with the same wording, appears on the volunteer's profile and in their notification settings once they have an account.

What we send

Message frequency

Message frequency varies based on your schedule and your organization's activity. As a guide, we send two reminders for each shift block you are scheduled to serve — roughly 24 hours before and roughly 1 hour before it starts — plus any substitute requests and announcements that arise.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply. ServeStack does not charge you for text messages, but your mobile carrier may, depending on your plan. Check with your carrier if you are unsure.

Getting help and opting out

You can also turn text notifications off yourself at any time, without contacting anyone: untick "Text me shift reminders and schedule updates" on your volunteer profile or in your notification settings and save. That clears your consent and stops the texts. Opting out of texts does not remove you from the schedule — you will still receive notifications through your other enabled channels.

To start receiving messages again, tick that box again. If you opted out by replying STOP, your carrier and our messaging provider also block the number at their end, and only a text from your phone can clear it — reply START to our number as well.

Delivery

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery depends on your carrier and your device, and we cannot guarantee that every message arrives. Do not rely on text messages alone for time-critical information — your schedule is always available in ServeStack.

Supported carriers

The program is supported on major US carriers. Carrier support can change without notice.

Privacy

Your mobile number is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. We never share or sell mobile opt-in data.

Changes

If we change these terms we will update the effective date above.
